This will be the first of 3 images based on sketches that are in turn based on a photo. This was part of a Graphic Design assignment where we had to create a new image, using an element from photos we took for a prior assignment. I did not like the assignment because the resulting images would be too abstract so I almost gave up before I even started. In the train home from the class I looked at the pictures on my phone, resigned to create something I would hate, but as I stared at the image I suddenly saw new shapes in the photos and I knew how I could make this assignment my own.
My advice is: Don't give up on something prematurely, if you take the time to stop for a moment and consider, you can find a way to make it work for yourself.
